Narrative Medicine and Ethics
In my capacity as a Medical Humanities Faculty member, I examine the narrative structures of patient encounters. I focus on real-world case studies where communication breakdowns led to ethical failures, offering formal solutions rooted in literary and philosophical analysis. My work is dedicated to teaching students how to read a patient’s story as carefully as they read a clinical chart. I believe that a precise understanding of narrative is essential for any physician seeking to practice truly humane medicine.
